    Rallys and Groups

We've had several different groups and rallys here this month and the campground is bustling with activity! We still have openings for 4th of July! The weather has been very hot lately and the pool is running about 82 degrees. Ice cream socials are keeping things cool on Saturday nights and the dogs have been enjoying the biscuit runs afterwards!

    June

June has started off slow....cold....grey....and wet. However, there is a bright side and it arrives tomorrow! 70 degree weather! Yeah! According to many sources we are running about 3 weeks behind -weather wise-. Here's hoping for a great weekend and maybe warm enough weather for swimming!

    May

May is here and despite a slow start, we had a very good turnout for Memorial Day Weekend. Weahter has been cool with some rain here and there and a bit of wind. Temps have averaged highs in the 60's and lows in the 30-40's. The pool should finally be open this weekend! Gas prices in town are now at $2.69 per gallon. We're hoping that gas prices and the economy don't get in the way of a great camping season again this year! Our ice cream socials are up and running on Saturday nights and new this year is a recycling dumpster. This is a godsend for us as prior to this, we had to bag all our recyclables up and take them to a center in town.

    Spring Cleanup!

    Friday, April 3, 2009

Spring is here?! OPEN ON MAY 1!

Well, April is here and this picture was taken on April Fools Day. Nice joke that Mother Nature played on us. I must tell you that all this new snow melted the very next day and now we are in the "drying out" phase, although still cold and grey currently. We are gearing up for the 2009 season. Our daily and weekly rates have stayed the same for the 3rd year in a row now. Our monthly rates are going up a bit this year mainly to cover the increase in electicity that we are being charged. Monthly rates include electric and Wi-Fi. We are installing a larger internet antannae to try to get the Wi-Fi out to the whole park so that you can access it at your site. We hope that the gas prices stay low and that this turns out to be a good camping season for all of us! As of right now, we have only one full hook up spot left for Memorial Day weekend. We still have plenty of water/electric sites open though. Be sure to check out the calendar of events listed on this page for things going on in our area this summer! Opening Day is May 1....see you soon!

Snow has finally started falling and the December temps are cold! Brrr! We did manage to get out to check out some of our areas activities. We did a jaunt (hiking and driving) through the Copper Country state forest (Merriman ski/hike/bike trail and Norway truck trail) which is across the road from us. This is such a huge area of land that we spent hours in and came across no one! I definately recommend a GPS so you don't get lost. We did manage to "misplace" our vehicle and spent 3 hours and close to 8 miles of walking to find it again! It was a good walk! I spent the next few days recuperating :)

    Workampers needed for 2009

When: Arrive sometime in May and depart mid-late September.

Where: Iron Mountain, MI. 100 miles north of Green Bay, WI, in the south central Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Lots of things to see and do and places to explore during your time off.

What do I get?: For a 50 amp full hook up spot we ask for 24 hours/week per couple (generally 3 days each of 4 hour shifts). If you only need a 30 amp full hook up site, we ask for 20 hours per week per couple. You will work the same days and have the same days off. We give you off every other weekend and we can honor special requests if you would like to take a week off. We can be flexible.

What do I have to do?: We need someone who is proficient in the office, doing computer registration, taking reservations, and working the cash register, as well as being friendly and able to work well with the public. We also can use people to work in the park doing grounds maintainance, parking campers, etc. We all take turns doing bathrooms and we usually schedule each couple to do the bathrooms 2 days per week and you clean them as a couple. Our bathrooms get a lot of compliments and are highly rated by Trailer Life. We take pride in maintaining clean bathrooms which also makes it very nice for us to clean them.

If you are interested or have any questions, please send your resume to sbreeze@charter.net or you can fax it to us at 906-774-3813. We also take resumes by mail: Summer Breeze Campground, W8576 Twin Falls Rd, Iron Mountain, MI 49801
